Apr 22,  · The Window is a book with sad moments while our hero works through her loss, but the layers of the story unfold with a steady momentum and the ending is quite satisfying. Highly recommend for a cozy rainy weekend read/5(53).

The Woman in the Window is intoxicating, dark, and simply unputdownable. AJ Finn's debut novel is placed in current day, gentrified Harlem, New York City, where Dr.

Anna Fox spends her day in her five-story townhouse drinking Merlot, spying on her neighbors, and mixing pills to numb her thoughts/5. Jan 02,  · THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW by all ye who enter here—is one of five townhouses that I can survey from the south-facing windows of my own.” A new family is moving in on her Harlem street, and Dr.

Anna Fox already knows their names, employment histories, how much they paid for their house, and anything else you can find out using a search. Mar 05,  · Part of the pleasure of this kind of book is in observing an effective formula well-executed. And The Woman in the Window executes the formula it’s set out for itself with as much panache as any mad scientist.

This is a book you can eat like candy. Vox. The Woman in the Window is one of those rare books that really is unputdownable. The writing is smooth and often remarkable/5. Bonus: Includes an interview with author A. Finn/5(K). The Widow is not a book filled with twists & turns so I wouldn't consider it a thriller.

The Widow just has a simmering sense of dread through out the entire book. The reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because the characters weren't very deep.

I didn't really feel connected to any of the characters in the book/5. The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn is a twisty read with a familiar premise: an unreliable narrator with a drinking problem. The following book club questions will have spoilers so if you haven’t read the novel yet, check out my preview first.

This was a fast-paced read for me. Compared to other similar stories (The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl), I like this protagonist, Anna Fox, the best. Jan 04,  · A. Finn’s debut novel begins with an ominous epigram: “I have a feeling that inside you somewhere, there’s something nobody knows about.

” This is a line from the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller, Shadow of a Doubt, and THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW, in more ways than one, pays homage to the venerable master of suspense.

Widen the Window is a clearly written guide into our shocked physiology and a time-tested, practical method of regaining power over it, through awareness and attention.” Gabor Maté, MD, author of When the Body Says No: Exploring The Stress-Disease Connection and In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts.

The book is composed of double-page spread collages created by Baker which together provide a narrative through a boy's life, or create a complex scene as stand-alone pieces. Window is accessible for all ages and does not require any prior knowledge around the subject/5.

The Woman in the Window Book Club Discussion. Was this book satisfying. I was prepared to not be enchanted by this book–let’s be honest, this domestic noir genre has been well overdone. Yet this book commanded its own presence.
